WHAT DOES GOD LOOK LIKE AND WHEN ONE CAN SEE THE FACE OF GOD?
(Wednesday, May 13, 2020)

1.0 GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS IMAGE BUT NOT IN HIS PERSONALITIES
Image of God (Genesis 1: 26): Then God said, “And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small.” Dictionary meaning of Image (Dictionary.com): A Physical likeliness or representation of a person, animal or thing, photographed, painted, sculptured, or otherwise made visible.
Personalities (Isaiah 55:8-9):“My thoughts,” says the Lord, “are not like yours, and my ways are different from yours. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways and thoughts above yours.
Warning (Exodus 20: 3-6): “Worship no god but me. “Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth or in the water under the earth. Do not bow down to any idol or worship it, because I am the Lord your God and I tolerate no rivals. I bring punishment on those who hate me, and on their descendants down to the third and fourth generation. But I show my love to thousands of generations of those who love me and obey my laws.
2.0 GOD IS SPIRIT AND LOOKS LIKE HUMAN BUT HUMAN CAN’T SEE HIS FACE
God is Spirit (John 4:24): God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship him as he really is.”
Spirit looks like Human (Mathew 14:25-26): Between three and six o’clock in the morning Jesus came to the disciples, walking on the water. When they saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said and screamed with fear.
Human can’t see God’s Face (Exodus 33:18-23): Then Moses requested, “Please, let me see the dazzling light of your presence.” The Lord answered, “I will make all my splendour pass before you and in your presence, I will pronounce my sacred name. I am the Lord, and I show compassion and pity on those I choose. I will not let you see my face, because no one can see me and stay alive, but here is a place beside me where you can stand on a rock. When the dazzling light of my presence passes by, I will put you in an opening in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will take my hand away, and you will see my back but not my face.”
3.0 GOD HAS BODY, HAIR, USE CLOTHES AND CAN SIT
God has Body (John 1:18) No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is the same as God and is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.
God has Hair, use clothes and sits (Daniel 7:9): While I was looking, thrones were put in place. One who had been living forever sat down on one of the thrones. His clothes were white as snow, and his hair was like pure wool. His throne, mounted on fiery wheels, was blazing with fire.
Dictionary meaning of Wool (The Clarendon Dictionary, 1894): The soft curled hair of sheep and other animals; closely curled hair of NEGROES.
4.0 CELESTIAL BODY & TERRESTRIAL BODY
Terrestrial Body (1 Corinthians 15:39): And the flesh of living beings is not all the same kind of flesh; human beings have one kind of flesh, animals another, birds another, and fish another.
Celestial Body (1 Corinthians 15: 40): And there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies; the beauty that belongs to heavenly bodies is different from the beauty that belongs to earthly bodies.
After Resurrection Jesus was in Celestial Body:
(John 20: 14-16) By appearance, Mary didn’t recognize Jesus.
(Luke 24: 15-16): By appearance, two disciples who were going to Emmaus didn’t recognize Jesus.
(Luke 24: 36-43; John 20: 19-23): By appearance, disciples didn’t recognize Jesus.
(John 21: 12-13): By appearance, seven disciples didn’t recognize Jesus.
5.0 WHEN ONE SEE THE FACE OF GOD?
See the face of God in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 22:3-5): Nothing that is under God’s curse will be found in the city. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. There shall be no more night, and they will not need lamps or sunlight, because the Lord God will be their light, and they will rule as kings forever and ever.
