“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (1 Chronicles 16:34)
God tells us today, “whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17). We should give thanks to the Lord at all times for all things.
This is how we show God that we value what He does to us. To give thanks is to honour God. Saying ‘thank you’ is a courtesy we show to mere people. How much more should we thank our God who does good things in our lives without us asking Him.
God lives in the praises of people. He is worthy of our praise and thanks. It is also God’s will for us to thank God. He says, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
David was the man after God’s own heart because he always remained thankful. So God was pleased with him. The Lord loves a grateful person. In the New Testament, we read about the incident where ten lepers shout to Jesus requesting Him to have pity on them and heal.
Jesus asks them to go to the priests and show themselves and while the lepers were on their way they got healed. Once they were healed one of the lepers ran back to Jesus fell at His feet and thanked Him.
Jesus immediately asked him, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” The Lord expects us to thank Him for all the blessings we receive from Him.
A Prayer for Today
Loving Lord, I praise You for every goodness You have done in my life. Through the ups and downs of my life I will remember the grace You have showered on me and will glorify Your name. Thank You Lord, for every blessing in my life.
Thank You for protecting me and providing all things for me even during these perilous times. It is Your grace that I am safe. Thank You Lord. I will remain thankful to You. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

“…Jabez prayed to the God of Israel: “Bless me, O bless me! Give me land, large tracts of land. And provide your personal protection—don’t let evil hurt me.” God gave him what he asked…” (1 Chronicles 4:10)
The name Jabez means “pain, sorrow, suffering.” Every time someone said, “Hello, Jabez,” they were saying, “Hello, sorrow. Hello, pain.” They were prophesying defeat and failure.
You can imagine how he could have let that make him feel inferior and insecure. But despite what people labelled him, he had the boldness to ask big, that God would bless him with abundance and protection. And God blessed him indeed.
Like Jabez, you may have reasons to settle where you are—what you didn’t get, what people said, the odds may be against you—but the good news is that God is for you. He can thrust you further than you ever imagined, but you have to pray bold prayers.
Ask in spite of the circumstances. Ask in spite of what people are saying. Ask in spite of what the enemy keeps whispering in your ears. If you’re going to reach your highest potential, you have to learn this principle of asking big.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that when the odds are against me, You are for me. Thank You that nothing and no one is more powerful than You, and I can dare to pray bold prayers. I believe that You are going to bless me with abundance as You did Jabez. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

“…Don’t seek vengeance. Don’t bear a grudge; but love your neighbor as yourself, for I am Jehovah…” (Leviticus 19:18)
In the Scripture, Joseph was betrayed and sold into slavery by his own brothers, then falsely accused and put in prison. He could have used excuse after excuse to be bitter and angry, but he had a “no excuses” mentality.
He kept doing the right thing when the wrong thing was happening. And in the end, he came out vindicated, promoted, and in a place of influence and respect. People may have said things about you and done things to you that hurt and offended.
Don’t waste your time looking back, nursing your wounds. Reliving what they did, thinking about what didn’t work out are distractions. Let it go and God will be your vindicator. Life is too short for you to waste another day in self-pity.
It’s not always easy to get over it and move forward, but here’s the key: the pain of letting it go is less than the pain of holding on and missing your destiny.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are the God who fights my battles and vindicates me. Thank You for Your love and grace that are mine. Right now I let go of the hurts, offenses, and wounds of the past. I declare that they have no power over me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

“…The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you…” (1 Kings 19:7)
The prophet Elijah had just gone from one of the greatest victories of his life to running away in defeat at the death threat of Queen Jezebel. He was sitting under a tree so depressed that he didn’t want to live.
He said, “God, I’m done. It’s over.” He’d just seen a great miracle, but now he was tired of standing strong in faith. Maybe you’ve been doing the right thing, praying and believing, but you’ve lost your drive. You may not have given up on life but given up on your dreams.
Here’s the good news: God doesn’t condemn us or disqualify us or write us off when we get tired. God sent an angel to cook and feed Elijah once, and then a second time to strengthen him. That is what He’ll do for you.
He’s going to cause blessings to chase you down. He’s coming a second time to push you into the fullness of your destiny..
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your provisions all along my life journey. Thank You for Your promise of coming to me a second time to renew me with strength and breathe new life into my dreams. I believe that You are coming again to cause blessings to chase me down. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

“…I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love…” (Luke 7:47)
Jesus was at a Pharisee’s house when an “immoral woman” came in and poured a jar of expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet and began to wash them with her tears and her hair. The religious leaders were shocked that Jesus would allow this “sinner” to touch Him.
But though she had made a mess of her life, she loved and longed to please Jesus. When she took one step toward God, He showed her mercy and said, “Your sins are forgiven.”
That’s the God we serve. Maybe you’ve made a mess, and now you think, God will never help me. No, God is not judging you based on what you’ve done. He looks past the outside, past the mistakes and failures, and He looks at your heart.
The question is, is your heart turned toward Him? As it was with this lady, when you call out to God, you’re going to see His favor, restoration, and mercy.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for looking beyond my performance and seeing my heart. Thank You for forgiving my mistakes and failures and messes. I’m shaking off the guilt and condemning thoughts and believing that You will show me Your favor and restoration. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
