A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly. (Proverbs 14:29)
Responding quickly to aggravation, threat, insult, or difficulty suggests strength to many folks today. However, responding hastily out of anger is foolish.
A hasty, unfiltered response seldom produces the desired long-term effect. This kind of response nearly always compounds the problems that need to be addressed.
Patiently dealing with frustrating and painful situations shows understanding and is nearly always more fruitful in the long run and can prevent the unnecessary loss of friendships, integrity, and respect.
A Prayer for Today
Father, I ask for patience and self-control. I know these virtues are part of the fruit of your Spirit’s presence in my life, so I ask that the Holy Spirit have more impact on my heart and life.
Please give me the understanding and wisdom to keep my mouth shut until I have had an opportunity to pray and think about the issues and people involved. In Yeshua’s name I pray. Amen.

“And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” (Exodus 14:4)
In the book of Exodus, God told Moses to tell Pharaoh, “Let My people go.” But God knew that Pharaoh would refuse, so He caused him to harden his heart so He could bring great glory at the expense of Pharaoh.
God was setting up the odds to be against the Israelites so He could show His favor. In a similar way, we may not like it that some people and circumstances have come against us; it isn’t fair, but it is ordained by God—not to stop or defeat us, but so God can show out in our lives.
Now quit complaining and asking, “Why am I facing these odds?” If we stay in faith, it’s just a matter of time before God turns around those obstacles and uses them to push us forward.
When it feels like the odds are against us, don’t fall apart. It’s a setup. God is about to do something that people cannot deny. They are going to know the Lord is on our side.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are going to use the obstacles in my life to show me Your favor and bring glory to Your Name. Thank You that You are setting me up to show out in my life. I declare that others are going to know that You are on my side. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen

“So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free.” (John 8:36)
Because of negative things in the past or even mistakes we’ve made, too often we develop a slave mentality. We think we’re at a disadvantage, so we don’t pursue our dreams or pray bold prayers.
We live as though we’re a slave to an addiction, to depression, to mediocrity, to others’ approval.
But Scripture says the Son of God has set us free. We are not a slave; we are the child of the Most High God. Sons and daughters think differently than slaves.
We may struggle with an addiction, but we say, “I have a right to be free.” There may be obstacles in our paths, but we know the forces for us are greater than the forces against us.
God has defeated the enemy and freed us from sin, guilt, depression, and sicknesses. We need to rise up and say, “I’m a son. I’m not a slave to my past, to people who hurt me, to addiction, to poverty, or to lack. I’m a child of the Most High God.”
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You have made me Your child, and Yeshua has set me free. Thank You that You redeemed me from sin and guilt and sickness.
I believe and declare that the forces for me are greater than the forces against me. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.”

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.” (1 Samuel 7:12)
In 1 Samuel 4, the Philistines had defeated the Israelites in a battle, captured the ark of the covenant, which symbolized God’s presence, and the prophet Eli was dead.
It was a disaster, and it looked as though the ark was gone forever. But plagues began to break out among the Philistines, and they realized it was because of the ark.
So, they put it on a cart and let two cows pull it back to Israel. The Israelites never dreamed they’d see the ark again, but the Lord restored it to them without them having to fight for it.
Some of the things that we worry over and can’t see how they could ever happen, God will bring those things to us. We’re not going to have to go after them or fight for them.
What belongs to us—the contract, the promotion, the healing—is headed our way. God knows how to get what’s ours into our hands. Bad breaks and enemies can’t stop Him. God is going to surprise us.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your presence in my life and Your constant help to get me what I need and where I need to be.
Thank You for all the things that are coming my way that I could never accomplish on my own. Thus far You have helped me, and I know that will always be true. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.”

The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
Are we worrying about our children, stressed out over our jobs, or discouraged because of a disappointment, thinking it’s not going to work out?
We need to live with the attitude of the psalmist David. He had all kinds of things come against him—people, armies, even his own family—and yet he would say to us about our situations,
“God’s got this. He’s directing your steps. He’s bringing the right people across your path and your children’s paths. He has beauty for the ashes, and right now He’s working behind the scenes. Dare to believe, dare to trust. Be still and know that He is God. He has you in the palms of His hands.”
Let us not worry or fear when we face obstacles that are bigger than us. It’s an opportunity for God to show us He’s God. It’s one thing to believe God has power to do the impossible.
But God wants us to do more than just believe; He wants us to experience His power. He will show us His greatness.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are my light and my salvation. You are the stronghold of my life, so I need not fear.
When things come against me, help me to remember that You have it in Your hands. I want to experience Your power and know Your greatness. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.

For even [Yeshua’s] own brothers did not believe in him. (John 7:5)
It’s interesting that Yeshua’s own brothers did not believe in Him until after He rose from the dead.
He was performing miracle after miracle, but they didn’t see Him as the Messiah. They only saw Him as their brother and thought, “Oh, it’s just Yeshua. We grew up with Him.”
Even when Yeshua began to gain popularity, His brothers scoffed at Him and made fun of Him. They tried to discount Him and talk Him out of His destiny. Yeshua let it go in one ear and out the other.
Sometimes the people who have known us the longest will try to keep us in the same box that we grew up in, but people don’t determine our destiny.
What they say about us and how they try to make us feel cannot stop what God has ordained for our lives.
We need to distance ourselves from people who are always trying to put limitations on us and talk us out of what God has put in our hearts.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are taking me to the next level whether the people around me recognize it or not.
Thank You that I am not limited by where I come from or by what others say or think about me.
I will not allow others to put a limitation on what You have put in my heart. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.

I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you. (Ephesians 6:22)
As Paul faced the difficulties of imprisonment, he was more concerned about the people in Ephesus than he was about himself.
Rather than keeping Tychicus close at hand for his own personal benefit, Paul sent him back to bless the people in Asia Minor.
Even in his time of difficulty and danger, Paul was concerned more to bless than he was to be blessed. Isn’t that a great example to us today?
We so often get upset about our minor inconveniences and ruin our attitude toward everyone around us. Paul’s example should convict us and lead us to be a blessing to others regardless of our circumstances.
A Prayer for Today
Father, forgive me for letting my difficulties ruin my attitude. I want to be a blessing to others no matter my personal circumstances. Convict me with your Spirit when I begin to focus too much on myself and my situation.
Expand my heart with your grace so that I can use my inconveniences, problems, struggles, and challenges to be opportunities to share and to display your grace. In Yeshua’s name I pray. Amen

“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.” (Psalm 92:12)
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree. The fact about how a palm tree stands against folds and storms. It seems that other trees will be blown away but this palm tree will stand strong.
It will almost bend flat to the ground but it will rise back once the storm passes away. When it comes back straight it will be stronger than before.
That’s what the verse says. We will flourish like a palm tree and grow like a cedar if we are righteous. Cedar is one of the strongest and beautiful tree in Lebanon.
The Bible says in Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
In the same way, when we pass through troubles and pass through storms in our lives, we will be like the palm tree because the Lord is with us. Once the storm passes, we will be stronger than we were before.
This is only a passing cloud in our lives. But not a hair of your head will perish. (Luke 21:18) We will not be overcome by our problems rather we will overcome all of them.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; (Psalm 34:19) Let’s thank the Lord for this promise and thank Him for being with us through the storm.
A Prayer for Today:
Loving Heavenly Father, Thank You for You are with me every single day. Lord, You know the troubles I am going through.
Thank You Lord my troubles are just a passing cloud and You will make like the palm tree. Thank You for I shall not be harmed in any way rather flourish like a palm tree. I give You all glory. In Yeshua’s most precious name, I pray. Amen.

Then the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him; and the ropes that were on his arms became like flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds broke loose from his hands. (Judges 15:14)
In Judges 15, for fear of the Philistines, the Israelites went to Samson, their friend and deliverer, and tied him up with the intent of handing him over to the Philistines to stop more attacks.
When the Philistines saw him bound, the Spirit of the Lord came on Samson and he snapped those ropes like threads before defeating a thousand Philistines.
What’s interesting is that he broke the restraints of his friends, not of his enemies.
Sometimes the people who are the closest to us, our family and friends, are the ones who limit us. If they’re telling us, “Settle where you are. You’re not very talented. You’ll never get out of debt,” they’re trying to tie you up in their mediocrity.
We have to say, “No, the power in me is greater than any power that’s trying to stop me.” When God breathed His life into us, He gave us the power to break bonds that have held us back. He anointed us to be a Samson, to take new ground.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit in my life that is greater than any chains that are trying to hold me back.
I believe You have equipped and empowered me. I’m not accepting the dysfunction. I know I was born to make a difference. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.
