For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him, for my hope is from Him. (Psalm 62:5)

After David was anointed to be the next king of Israel, he spent years of isolation caring for his father’s sheep. Nobody knew who he was or was watching him.

He felt lonely, overlooked, and forgotten. This was an incredibly important time in his life. They were proving years where he showed God what he was made of and became a person of excellence.

He took care of the sheep as though he was taking care of the nation. He risked his life to kill a lion and a bear. After he passed the test of being faithful in obscurity, God knew He could trust him with prominence.

In seasons of isolation, let us deal with the issues God brings to light. Let us do the right thing when it’s hard, keep a good attitude when people are not treating us right, go the extra mile when nobody is watching.

God’s doing a work in us. It’s an opportunity to grow, to get stronger, to come up higher. We’re getting prepared to go to new levels.

Prayer for Today

Father, thank You that You are always working in my life to shape my character and prepare me for the next level You have for me.

Thank You for the seasons of isolation and obscurity where You prove my faithfulness. I believe You are taking me higher to be used for Your glory. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen

“When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isaiah 43:2)

Maybe we prayed for God to turn a situation around, but it didn’t happen. Now thoughts tell us, “He must not care about us.”

If Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were to step out of their story in Daniel 3, they’d say, “We know how you feel. We prayed and asked God to deliver us from going into the fiery furnace, but God didn’t answer our prayer the way we wanted.

We were tempted to panic and complain, but instead, we decided to trust Him. We told the king that even if God didn’t deliver us, we would not bow to his idol.

When he threw us in the furnace, amazingly, the fire didn’t burn us. Then all of a sudden, in the middle of the fire, the Son of God showed up!”

We may be in the fire, but stay in faith. We are fireproof. God is right there with us. Keep believing, keep praying, keep doing the right thing. We’re going to come out without the smell of smoke.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that no matter what the situation is, You are worthy of my trust. There are things in my life that I don’t understand, situations I want to see changed, but even if they never happen, I’m going to trust You.

I gladly leave these matters in Your hands. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen
