“I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron…so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.” (Isaiah 45:2–3)

The prophet Isaiah said that God is going before us and will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron, meaning the things that have held us back for years.

Addictions, lack, depression, and insecurity may have been in our families for generations. Thoughts will tell us, “Just accept it. This is just who we are.” God is saying, “I’m about to put an end to what’s holding you back.”

That depression is not staying in our family lines, that addiction is not going to keep being passed down, the struggle and lack are not our destiny.

This is a new day. The God who spoke worlds into existence is breaking gates of defeat, chains of mediocrity, chains of depression.

It’s good to remember the great things God has done, but God doesn’t want us to live off of yesterday’s victories. He is about to give us some new evidence, some fresh victories that we will know that He is our God and has summoned us by name.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You are the God who breaks the bronze gates that have held me back. Thank You for all the great things You have done for me and for all the new breakthroughs You are about to give me. I believe that You have summoned me by name. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen

Then Joseph kissed each of his brothers and wept over them, and after that they began talking freely with him. (Genesis 45:15)

Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery that led to thirteen years of immeasurable suffering, heartache, and pain.

Yet after Joseph was made second in command of all Egypt, when those same brothers came before him asking for food, he didn’t say, “It’s payback time!”

The reason God could promote Joseph to that level is because He could trust Joseph to handle the power correctly and be good to people who had not been good to him.

Joseph wept, embraced, and kissed his brothers. He gave them food and land and took care of his entire family.

Give people the grace to change when they’ve done us wrong. Don’t judge their whole life on one season, one mistake.

We don’t have to befriend them and allow them all access, but we need to get to the point where we’ve let go of the offense and we treat them with respect.

Be a Joseph. Let God pay back the people who hurt us. We’re not the judge and jury. Leave it in God’s hands.

“Father, thank You for the mercy and forgiveness and protection You have shown me when I’ve done wrong. Help me to do good and to bless those who have done me wrong.

I am leaving them in Your hands and giving them the grace that allows for change. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen

“Bring all the tithe into the storehouse…and try Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” (Malachi 3:10)

We all come to places in life where we reach our limit. We’ve gone as far as our education allows. The medical report says we’re not going to get well.

We’ve tried but haven’t been able to break the addiction. It’s easy to settle where we are and think it’s never going to change.

But the good news is that we’re not on our own. Because we’re a giver, because we’re planted in the house of the Lord, we are under the open windows of heaven.

If we start believing and expecting again, God is going to rain down favor, good breaks, creativity, and abundance. The medical report may not look good, but healing is raining down under the open windows of heaven.

We may have gone as far as our education allows, but opportunities and divine connections are raining down under the open windows of heaven.

We haven’t been able to break that addiction, but it’s just a matter of time before freedom and wholeness rain down under the open windows of heaven.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that I am under the open windows of heaven. Thank You that You are pouring out blessings so abundant that I won’t have room enough to receive it all.

I believe and declare that You are going to rain down favor, good breaks, and creativity. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.

Ignore insignificant insults or losses and do not bother to retaliate—maintain your dignity. (Luke 6:29)

We would go a lot further and enjoy life a lot more if we would simply ignore some things. When somebody is talking about us, we don’t have to straighten them out—just ignore it and move on.

When somebody is pushing for an argument, they may be wrong and we know we’re right, but if we win the argument, what is that going to accomplish? Is it going to move us forward, or is it just going to make us feel good?

We may win, but in the big picture it’s taking our time, energy, and the focus should be using for our dreams. Let somebody else be right for the sake of peace. Let God fight our battles.

We fight too many battles that don’t matter. If a battle is not between we and our destiny, it’s a distraction. It’s the enemy trying to lure us off course when a new level is waiting for us. We have to learn to let things go.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You are always greater than any difficulty I will ever face. Give me the wisdom to know and ignore anything that is just an insignificant insult or an argumentative distraction to get me off track.

I believe that You are going to bring me to the next level. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:105)

So often, those of us who have received the blessings of faith and the guidelines of the Word of God don’t fully appreciate them.

Can we imagine what it is like to try to define ones worth, clarify ones values, and establish ones sense of purpose without a standard of truth?

Let us imagine what it would be like to be lost without a map and without a compass? Remember what it was like to wake up in an unfamiliar place as a child in the pitch black darkness totally disoriented?

We don’t have to worry about that now, do we? God’s Word both Scripture and his Son — light our dark paths and show us the way home!

A Prayer for Today

O LORD, my Abba Father, thank you for not leaving me in darkness. Your Word lights my path and your Son, the Light of the World, lights my life.

Thank you for not leaving me alone to find my way. In Yeshua’s name. Amen.

For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD; I sing for joy at the works of your hands. (Psalm 92:4)

Gaze into the heavens on a dark night and see the wonders of the starry hosts. Think of the incredible diversity of earth’s wonders. Look at your own life and see the fingerprints of God’s work in your own experience (Romans 8:28).

As Yeshua said, our Father is working still (John 5:17). Yes, it does make us glad to know that we are not alone in working our own life (Psalm 139; Phil. 2:13).

There is a deep-seated joy at knowing that the LORD, Creator of the universe is at work in us and for us. No wonder singing praise is such a natural response for us!

A Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise you for power and glory revealed in the majesty of your creation. I thank you for your work in transforming and recreating me, as well.

Please continue your transforming work in me. Make me what you want me to be. In Yeshua’s name. Amen

“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” (Isaiah 48:10)

As a young man, Moses knew he was supposed to deliver God’s people from their slavery in Egypt. He had the dream, but he got out of God’s timing, tried to do it on his own, and killed a man.

He had to run for his life, then he spent the next forty years on the back side of the desert. It looked as though that one mistake ruined his destiny.

But God never writes us off. Moses was in the furnace of affliction, being refined. When he was eighty years old, the Scripture says, “Moses was the most humble, gentle man on the face of the earth.”

God was saying, “Moses, I haven’t forgotten about you. You may not have liked the difficulties, you may have been uncomfortable, but now you’re prepared for the fullness of your destiny.”

Moses went on to bring the Israelites out of four hundred years of slavery and lead them to the Promised Land. It would never have happened without the refining fire.

A Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for Your promise that I am Your child, and You really are my heavenly Father. Thank You that no matter how unfair the past has been, You have a plan to get me to my destiny.

I declare that I will not be bitter, and I look forward to the good things You are bringing to me. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.

“I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18)

We may have been raised in a dysfunctional environment with addictions, abuse, and neglect. It’s easy to get bitter and think, “God, why was I born into this family? Why didn’t my parents give me what I needed?”

It may not have been fair, but God has promised to be our heavenly Father. He’s taken into account what we didn’t get, who wasn’t there, and what didn’t work out.

It may seem as though that put us at a disadvantage, but our Father already designed a plan with that in mind to get us to our destiny.

He took into consideration the hurt, the pain, the rejection, the loneliness. No matter how wrong it was, it doesn’t have to stop us.

No matter who wasn’t there for us, let us not live with bitterness, give up on a dream, or settle for mediocrity.

God is saying, “Get ready. I’m about to make it up to you. I’m going to give you more joy, more peace, more influence, and more resources than you could ever imagine.”

“Father, thank You for Your promise that I am Your child, and You really are my heavenly Father. Thank You that no matter how unfair the past has been, You have a plan to get me to my destiny.

…not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25)

When we come together as a body of believers united in faith, there’s something that happens that we cannot get on our own. We draw strength from one another.

As our praise gets mixed with others’ praise, power is released, healing is released, joy is released. Every time we come together, we’re being refreshed, restored, and reenergized.

It’s like our batteries are being recharged. What was took out of us, God is putting back in us.

It’s good to worship on our own. It’s important to pray by ourselves. But something happens corporately that doesn’t happen individually.

That’s why David says, “Let us magnify the Lord together.” When we come together to magnify God, it’s like the intensity is turned up.

Our faith mixed with everybody else’s faith creates something powerful. Let us give God the first and take a few hours to assemble together and connect with other believers. When we come together in faith, an ordinary building becomes a house of God.

“Father, thank You that the church is Your idea and for making it a place where I can unite my faith with others and draw strength from others.

Thank You that when we gather to worship, I am refreshed, restored, and reenergized for the time ahead. Help me to be connected with other believers. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Corinthians 13:7)

We’re all tempted to give up on what we’re believing for, to walk away from someone who disappoints us, to slack off at work and not be our best because we’re not being treated right.

But if we’re going to reach our highest potential, we have to stay committed. We have a made-up mind that we’re in it for the long haul.

It may be difficult, we may have a good reason to walk away, but don’t take the easy way out. Let us stay committed to our marriage, stay committed to raising that child, stay committed to our friends in the good times and in the tough times.

Let us stay committed to our dreams. Let us not give up on the promises God put in our heart when it’s taking longer than we thought.

Stay committed to our jobs and stay committed to our church. Be loyal, be somebody others can count on every day.

The people who see their dreams come to pass are the people who stay committed. God rewards consistent, faithful, committed people.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for Your faithfulness and commitment to love me at all times. Thank You that You never slack off in bringing Your promises to fulfillment in my life.

Help me to stay committed in all my relationships, to be faithful in my work, to be someone others can always count on. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen
