SECRET OF THOUGHTS THAT WILL CHANGE OUR DESTINATION
These days, many of us have toxic thoughts regularly – thoughts that are slowly destroying our lives and relationships. The Bible speaks often about the power of the mind and our thoughts. “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.” (Proverbs 4:23) Thoughts are either words or pictures that form in the mind and which are often accompanied by or give rise to feelings which in turn may give rise to actions. Given the fact we have at least 60,000 daily thoughts then our thinking is ever changing and so we’ll perceive circumstances differently from one moment to the next. Productive states of mind come about as a result of fluent, coherent thinking. That brings about consistency, contentment and the opportunity to push outwards to reach our potential. Obtaining excellence and fulfilment is more about intuition than straight-forward intellectual reasoning. “All we are is the result of what we have thought, it is founded on our thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him” (Dhammapada by the Buddha Chapter 1: 1-2)
Sinful thoughts are often something we believers struggle with. Sometimes we have no control as to what thoughts we create; however, we are able to take control of these thoughts. The problem is that most of us aren’t even aware of our negative thoughts. It’s almost like they have just become a habit, so it seems normal to us. God’s words help us to recognize our thoughts for what they really are, and how to act (or not act) upon them.
2. SEVEN TYPES OF THOUGHTS
2.1 Toxic Thoughts (Traits: anger, fear, revenge, jealousy, grudge, ego, un-forgiveness and guilt)
Toxic thoughts are poisonous and most powerful for destruction or damaging of our body, soul and spirit. 2 Corinthians 10:5: We pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey Christ. Toxic thinking causes more than 1,400 known physical and chemical responses, activates more than 30 different hormones and neurotransmitters (e.g. adrenaline, cortisol, etc.) throwing the body into a frantic state”. Being in a “frantic state” for long periods weakens our body’s abilities to be in balance, creating a doorway for disease to develop. Isaiah 55:7: Let the wicked leave their way of life and change their way of thinking. Let them turn to the LORD, our God; he is merciful and quick to forgive.
2.2 Negative Thoughts (Traits: doubt, failure, illness, irritation, dislike)
Negative thoughts are those kinds of thoughts which drag our energy level low and which spread bad vibes to our surrounding. Negative thoughts are associated with negative feelings such as sadness, anxiety, anger, and hopelessness. Often, we are not aware of our negative thoughts as they occur automatically, seem reasonable and believable. Proverbs 17:20-22: Anyone who thinks and speaks evil can expect to find nothing good- only disaster. There is nothing but sadness and sorrow for a father whose son does foolish things. Being cheerful keeps you healthy. It is slow death to be gloomy all the time. Negative in nature, brings destruction to the self and others, repetitive, consumes lot of energy and time.
2.3 Waste Thoughts (Traits: not be in present situation- go to past or future)
Wasteful thinking refers to uneconomical thinking or impure thinking. Even if we have no power on circumstances, we still keep thinking about them. Thoughts about these situations called waste thoughts. Thoughts of fear, anger, past, future etc. which are baseless. It may be hard to believe that 80% of our thoughts are about the past. Always remember that past has been gone and we cannot change it. Therefore, stop wasting our time that way. Another part of waste thought is thinking too much about tomorrow. We forget to live in the present while worrying about the future. An average person spent 15% of time thinking too much about future. Then Jesus said to the disciples…not to worry about the food you need to stay alive or about the clothes…can any of you live a bit longer by worrying about it? … Instead, be concerned with HIS Kingdom, and HE will provide you with these things. (Luke 12:22-31) Waste thoughts have no place in our lives and we need to close the doors to these types of thoughts. Proverbs 18:21: What you say can preserve life or destroy it; so you must accept the consequences of your words.
2.4 Necessary (Traits: Thoughts related to daily activities and planning)
Thoughts related to daily activities and planning comes into necessary thoughts. They are created by us according to responsibilities and needs at a more physical, material and professional level. When these thoughts are repeated over and over again, they become unnecessary or waste thoughts. 1 Peter 5:8-9: Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
2.5 Right Thoughts (Traits: problem solving, non-violence to all beings)
Thoughts to have a task to do or a problem to solve, the will takes hold of and directs thoughts in a particular direction. A good person brings good out of the treasure of good things in his heart; a bad person brings bad out of his treasure of bad things. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. (Luke 6:45) Philippians 4:8: And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
2.6 Positive Thoughts (Traits: Thoughts that ggenerates feelings of peace, love and usually stress free. For example, forgiveness, patience, self-control, peace, affirmations, happiness, love and purity)
Positive thoughts such as forgiveness, patience, and self-control help our bodies release chemicals that keep us in a peaceful and healthy state. These are thoughts related to peace, affirmations, happiness, love and purity. “Stop fighting”, he says, “and know that I am God, supreme among the nations, supreme over the world.” (Psalm 46:10) Proverbs 23:7: “Come on and have some more,” he says, but he doesn’t mean it. What he thinks is what he really is.
2.7 Elevated Thoughts (Traits: spiritual, knowledge, wisdom, intuitions)
Elevated thoughts are most powerful for keeping balanced of our body, soul and spirit. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) Elevated thinking as it allows us the ability to know stuff without analysing and thereby make more reliable decisions and choices. It is soul thinking which is always resourceful, opportunistic and possibility focused, all a result of a harmonious and balanced mind. Romans 12:2: Do not confirm yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of you mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God – what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect. No matter how dark the situation, let me always hold on to the steady light of hope.
Hebrews 4:12: For word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edge sword. It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of man’s heart.

Stay Blessed…Thank You!
The Sabbath Day is truly a gift! How wonderful to be granted a day of reprieve while honoring God. The connection to His own day of rest is most humbling.
teaching your readers about the sabbath is very important, as we need to know why, how and when to observe this day
Thank you Sergio for your kind words…please go through the video embed in the page. It may help you to answer some of your queries – why, how & when. Please find the link: https://youtu.be/RaimvKVzdOg
I still struggle with this one. I have not quite gotten it right. I know we are to rest and give glory to God but how does one do this properly in the modern day? Some say to do it on Saturday, others on Sunday. I am just confused about it and I always give up on it and I know my relationship with God would grow deeper if I found understanding of it.
I can understand your situation. Most of us have (are) gone (going) through similar experiences. We need to understand the differences between Worship and Sabbath keeping. We need to worship God on every day but remembering and keeping Sabbath [exclusive day to worship God, following the Sabbath rest guidelines] is the 4th commandment.

Moreover, we also find in Revelation 14, particularly in verse 12 it says, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith / testimony of Yeshua [Jesus]”. Also mentioned in Revelation 12:17, “… which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Yeshua the Messiah [Jesus Christ]”.
In James 2:10, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” Please read the scripture, there are many, but I have quoted few verses to reflect upon them.
God Bless you.
