“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – (Matthew 11: 28)

The Bible says, God created the heavens and the earth, the seas and all that is in them in six days and rested on the seventh day of creation (Genesis 2:2; Exodus 31:17). ‘Rest’ is an experience that God had after His creation. And He wants us to give that wonderful experience in our lives too. Yes, we serve the Almighty God who sustains everything by the mighty power of his command (Hebrews 1:3). He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name (Psalm 147:4). He gives power to every star and makes sure that they travel in their own path. At the same time, He also grants them rest. How wonderful it is!

You may have often become discouraged and bogged down in life’s cares. But God wants you to lay all your life’s burdens upon Him, for He cares about you so much. He desires to grant you rest. He will fill you with His peace and give you rest. In Matthew 11:28, He said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”. Yes, if you come to Jesus, He will give you rest. Are you tired and weary, come to our Loving Lord and lay all your burdens at His feet and you will surely find true rest in Him.

A Prayer for Today
Loving Heavenly Father, You have promised that all things work together for the good of those who love You, for those who have been called according to Your purpose. And You have also promised that You will allow no trial to be so great that I cannot bear it and that You will provide a means of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). God, I lay all my burdens at Your feet. God, I know that You care about me so much and You will make me rest in You. In Your Name I pray, Amen.
